What is the Rent-to-Own Housing Program?
The Rent-to-Own Program helps individuals transition from homelessness to homeownership. Participants can move into a tiny home by paying a small down payment (which can be sponsored by donors or cities). From there, residents make manageable monthly payments toward owning their home — fostering stability, pride, and financial independence.
How much does an Inste Home cost?
Pricing depends on the model, customization, and site setup. We’re one of the most affordable tiny home builders in California, offering transparent estimates and fair pricing. A $300 site visit and estimate fee covers property evaluation, foundation planning, and installation requirements.
What’s included in each home?
Each Inste Home is move-in ready and includes:
- Bathroom (toilet, shower, sink)
- Kitchenette (sink, cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, cabinets)
- Bed (twin, full, or queen options)
- Storage areas and washer/dryer hookups
- Heating, cooling, and full utility connections (sewer, water, electricity)
- Optional upgrades include rear decks or storage units.
How long does installation take?
Once your home is built, delivery and installation typically take just a few days. Our team handles the foundation setup, utility hookups, and final placement, ensuring the home is ready for immediate occupancy.
Are your homes ADA-compliant?
Yes. We offer ADA-ready home designs for clients with disabilities, featuring accessible bathrooms, entryways, and layouts that prioritize mobility and comfort.
Can Inste Homes be relocated?
Yes. If a homeowner finds a better location, we offer one-time relocation service (within reason) to move the home to a new site.
How can I partner or donate?
You can sponsor a down payment for someone in need, donate land for home placement, or partner as a city, developer, or organization to expand housing access. All contributions go directly toward building and placing homes for individuals on our housing list.
